If you’re looking for a natural, simple-yet-elegant theme for a baby shower, look no further! A Woodland baby shower combines the serenity of the great outdoors with the cuteness of its wildlife. The key to planning a successful woodland baby shower is in the details—simple decisions with your placecards or party favors will turn the whole affair into an wild adventure.

Plan the Ultimate Woodland Baby Shower

Acorn Snacks

Nothing says outdoors better than acorns! And did you know they make the perfect snack? Of course not actual acorns—there are so many cute acorn-themed snacks to prepare for a woodland baby shower. Like these look-alike acorn treats with Hersey kisses or delicious Oreo acorn balls.

Wooden Picture Frames

Give special moments a little rustic feel with wooden picture frames. You can include images in the frames already—like any announcement photos Mom’s taken—or have friends and family sign the frames as a memento of the celebration, for pictures of the little one after he or she is born.

Lantern

Not only will these help the space feel a little more like the outdoors (or be a nice touch if the shower is outside), but lanterns also make great giveaways—use them as prizes for any games you play during the party. Bonus points if you can make each of them a little different, so all the winners feel like they’re taking home something unique.

Fresh Flowers

Bring the outside in with fresh flowers—place them in mason jars as centerpieces, or mix in baby’s breath with the other décor around the table. If you’re using lanterns or pictures frames anywhere, a little baby’s breath sprinkled at the base of either will enhance the overall theme.

Crown For Mom

Go one step further with your flowers and make a crown for Mom. Incorporate the flowers you use to decorate, and add in a few flowers that are Mom’s favorite color. If it’s a warmer month, or Mom has allergies, use vines or similar branches to make the crown.

Animal Books

If you’ve attended a baby shower before, you’re sure to have heard the request to Please bring a book and not a card. Ask your guests to do the same, but put a unique spin on it—kindly ask that they bring an animal-themed book like Are You My Mother?, Touch and Feel Farm, or Brown Bear Brown Bear, What Do You See?

Woodland Toys

Take the book request one step further, and ask guests to bring a stuffed animal or animal toy that is mentioned in the book they bring. Be sure to save some space on the gift table to display the animals once gifts have been opened!

Wood or Pinecone Cardholders

If you plan on having place cards for seating, or even labels on your food, stick those in small logs or large pinecones for a dramatic effect. If you put a backing on the photos, you could even stick photos in a few of them to go along with the wooden photo frames.

Trail Mix Bar

One of the biggest challenges of planning a shower or party is choosing the favor. How do you pick one thing that a group of people with varying tastes will like? For a woodland-themed shower, a trail mix bar is the simple solution! Provide bags for the food, and let guests create the perfect mix for themselves.
