Wedding Season Tips

Once the holiday celebrations are over, planners begin looking ahead to the future: last year Eventective discovered that wedding requests and party planning doubled in January. So what does this mean for venues? It means that it’s crucial they are well prepared for what the season will bring. Where should they begin? Eventective has them covered with these simple tips:

1.) Update Your Information

We cannot stress enough how important it is to have accurate and up-to-date information on your website and Eventective listing. Thousands of planners will be searching online for the venue of their dreams. This is the time to add recent photos, update wedding and party pricing, and make sure all your details are correct.

2.) Be a Social Butterfly

What is the first thing most brides do after getting engaged? They post a photo of their ring on Facebook and Instagram and they start looking on social media for wedding inspiration.  Post photos and information across Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Twitter. Using hashtags like #weddinginspiration, #bridetobe, or #weddingplanning will get your posts in front of the right audience. To grab the attention of local planners, use local hashtags.  For example, a Maine venue would use #maineweddings, #mainebride or  #mainevenue. It’s a good idea to search the hashtag first to make sure it’s being used.

3.) Run a Promotion

Take advantage of the planners looking to find the perfect venue for their event. Entice them with a promotional offer they cannot refuse without giving away the space for free. A good promotion to run would be 10% off the room rental fee. Display these promotions on your rate page on your website or in the packages section on your Eventective listing.

4.) Connect with Your Community

Word of mouth is one of the most powerful forms of advertising.  Find local events to attend and start networking with local businesses and customers. Keep the selling tactics to a minimum and focus on building brand awareness. The more people you meet, the more potential customers you stand to gain in the future.

Wedding Season is coming – fast. Start preparing now and take advantage of the volume of planners coming online to plan their events.  Start with making sure all of your business information is up-to-date, be a social butterfly across social media, consider running a promotion, and find local opportunities to connect with your community. Make this wedding season the best season yet!
